1.5 The Substance
In the beginning, before the concept of beginning held form, there existed only the Substance. It is a profound error of the modern mind to perceive the Divine as an architect separate from His architecture. God is not the builder of the house; God is the stone, the mortar, and the void within.

To speak of 'materiality' in this context is to invoke a lesser word for a supreme state. The physical world is the densest, most crystallized expression of the Divine Substance itself. Every atom, every spark of light, every shadow is pregnant with the absolute.
Crowns, scepters, and orbs are cast upon the earth below—for the soul arrives unburdened by dominion, and departs the same way. Substance is not what is worn, but what remains when everything worn is set down.
